HIGHLIGHS FROM DÉCOR + DESIGN 2019
August 9, 2019Our team recently visited Décor + Design 2019 and after a successful visit we came away feeling inspired and excited to get to work implementing all the amazing product on show.
We saw a diverse range on offer covering artwork, furniture, fixtures & fittings, wall finishes, lighting, carpet, flooring and textiles. With so many great pieces on show we can’t wait to share some of the highlights with you.
FURNITURE:
Boho was definitely at the forefront of this year’s show with many suppliers featuring pieces that sat within this genre. This relaxed look, crossed between beachy and island lux is extremely popular for those wanting to achieve a little bit of paradise at home. Textures and finishes included rattan, light earthy tones, natural woods in a range of finishes, lots of indoor greenery, white washes and rope detail. Mediterranean Market, Albi Australia, Searles Homewares, Bisque and Warranbrooke were all standouts.
Iluka Road stood out to us with their high quality offering of furniture and homewares with a modern international feel. Influenced by travels this range was individual and timeless.
Tantra also showcased a vast rage of standout pieces. We loved their carved wooden buffets and antique metal coffee tables with marble detailing.
Gallery featured a stunning range of acacia pieces with a mid-century feel. These warm tones and sleek designs would be a beautiful feature in any home.
Searles offered a bold range of rich greens and contrasting whites creating a gorgeous luxe tropical feel. We loved the use of greenery and warm textures bringing together their range.
ART:
Some of our favourite suppliers were exhibiting their latest range of photographic and textural art pieces perfect for both residential and commercial interiors. We loved the Australian beachy prints from Warranbrooke and the variety on offer from Albi Australia.
TEXTILES:
Once again we were spoilt for choice when it came to rugs and carpets. Some of the standouts were the ginormous beautiful one off rugs from Tribe Home. These had been individually picked and restored giving new life to otherwise unwanted rugs. Each piece had been embroidered and dyed to create truly unique one off treasures.
Aussbond also had a stand out offering of textures and natural weaves which caught our eye and complimented a lot of the ranges featured at this years show.
Warwick, L&M, Bandhini and Elk and Earth showcased stunning cushion and textile ranges all offering something different to the mix whether it be beautiful florals, painterly designs, applique and print pattern, luxurious velvets or child friendly pattern.
HARDWARE:
We loved the range from Hepburn Hardware featuring beautiful patinated metals and both modern and classic designs. Both suitable for either commercial or residential design, they had a wide range of detail and finishes.
LIGHTING:
We were thrilled with the offer of lighting across the board, coming away with loads of inspiration and ideas that we are excited to implement into current and future projects. Some of the stand outs were the eye catching atomic pendant lights from Café lighting, the woven pendants and statue desk lamps from Iluka Road, Mediterranean Markets beaded chandeliers and woven pendants, the beautiful glass lantern pendants from Bisque, and Albi Australia’s stand out range and vast variety of table lamps.
All in all it was another successful trade show and we look forward to working with all the suppliers mentioned as well as many more that we met on the day.
